Sample management and biobanking: Essentials for HRO projects

When it comes to clinical research, it’s all about quality and documentation. Many research questions are addressed by assessing biological material sampled from cohorts and research participants. If you want to ensure valid outcomes and reproducible study results, the pre-analytical processes are of key importance – it’s not only about keeping samples stored and managed properly at low temperatures. This session focuses on proper sample management and biobanking and explains the essentials of the complete sample life cycle.

After a short presentation, there is plenty of time for you as researchers to ask questions.

This seminar session is part of a lunch seminar series, which offers brief overviews and room for questions on important topics related to observational studies (HRO projects). About this session

This session provides an insight into the most important aspects of sample management and biobanking for HRO projects. In collaboration with the Swiss Biobanking Platform (SBP), it presents the importance of preanalytics and documentation in setting up and maintaining biobanks as well as the national strategy to support quality in Swiss biobanks.
