Auditing

The independent and objective view of qualified auditors can improve systems and make clinical trials more efficient and streamlined. We help sponsors fulfil their responsibility to set up the quality assurance and good clinical practice (GCP) compliance of their clinical research projects. We train and maintain a pool of professional auditors and develop practical tools to help sponsors and sponsor-investigators make more informed decisions and better use available resources.

Looking at clinical research projects from a bird’s-eye view

What we offer:

We maintain a pool of well-trained auditors who help ensure the quality of clinical research systems and projects through fee-based services both within and outside the SCTO’s CTU Network. In addition, we develop practical tools for the systematic self-assessment of clinical research projects.

What challenges we tackle:

When the budget is tight, everything else is often perceived as more important than quality assurance. With our key projects, we aim to demonstrate that the rigour of auditing improves the quality and credibility of clinical research data produced, thus potentially helping clinical research findings reach and benefit the public.

Our key projects:

We conduct internal audits within the CTU Network to increase GCP compliance of clinical trials and improve their overall quality. We aim to share examples of best practices so that everyone can learn from them.

In addition, our Risk Assessment Form for clinical research projects helps sponsors and sponsor-investigators to ensure that potential risks of clinical trials are addressed according to the Guideline for Good Clinical Practice.
